Positions are under-implemented at the following classifications:
Upon completion of the TELP program the full working level classification is at the Grid 18 level.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is currently hiring full-time positions as part of our Transportation Entry Level Program (TELP).


An Eligibility List may be established to fill future permanent and/or temporary vacancies in any of the following locations, with some remote communities qualifying for an Isolation Allowance.

Job Qualifications:
Basic qualifications include the following, however, you MUST refer to the attached Job Profile to view the FULL SET of job qualifications and willingness statements. In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience requirements.

  • Recent post-secondary program graduation (program completion by spring 2023 or within the last seven years) with a diploma/degree in a RELATED FIELD as specified in the attached Job Profile(s).
  • An equivalent combination of education as above (e.g. relevant post-secondary certificate program) with related experience may be considered.
  • Eligibility to permanently work in Canada.
  • As related to the position of interest, preference may be given to applicants with the following:
    • Related experiential learning (e.g. practicums/placements, co-ops, volunteer work, work experience, etc.); and/or,
    • Relevant coursework/training.

Unofficial Transcripts
For in-progress students due to graduate in the Spring of 2023, an unofficial transcript (which must include your name, the educational institution's name, the years your courses were taken, the year you obtained your degree (if applicable), program courses and marks) is acceptable for submission however, a final official transcript is required prior to appointment.


A copy of your related unofficial transcript(s) must be sent to TELP.Recruitment@gov.bc.ca by Sunday February 12th, 2022 at 11:00pm.


International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES)


NOTE: If your completed related education/program was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). Confirmation of equivalency or your related education is required for you to be considered and must be submitted to TELP.Recruitment@gov.bc.ca by Sunday February 12th, 2022 at 11:00pm.


Failure to submit your official transcript(s) and ICES (if required), may result in being removed from consideration.


Provisos:

  • Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position).
  • Depending on the position, must be willing and able to work outside (including drive and travel) in all weather conditions during periods of inclement weather and/or rough terrain, including ascending or descending structures; working in active construction sites, rough terrain, around traffic and construction equipment.
  • Depending on the position, must be willing and able to work outside of normal business hours as well as some public speaking.
  • Travel may be required
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence is required for those positions requiring travel. (Note: A driver's abstract may be required)

What to expect?
Those applicants selected to move forward in the selection process may be assessed on the Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies as outlined in the attached job profile. As applicants are selected to move through the competitive process more details about each stage of assessment will be provided.

Questionnaire (COMPREHENSIVE): YES - As part of the application process, you will be prompted to complete a comprehensive online questionnaire to demonstrate how you meet the job requirements. Please allot approximately 60 minutes to complete the questionnaire.


IMPORTANT: The online questionnaire cannot be saved and will time out after 60 minutes. You will need to complete the questionnaire and submit your application within 60 minutes or you will lose any information you have entered. If you require more time to prepare your responses, copy the questions and prepare your responses outside of the system and paste them into the online questionnaire when you are ready to apply.
