Manager, Operations – Saskatchewan

If you're such a manager, our CBI Health Specialized Community Services team welcomes your leadership and expertise.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, Specialized Community Services; your role would be to ensure organizational effectiveness by providing strong leadership for the organization’s operational functions in Saskatchewan. You will formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. You will be accountable for creating an environment in our Saskatchewan operations that exemplifies CBI Health values. Ultimately, we will count on you to ensure a collective focus on delivering excellent service that improves the health and enriches the lives of those we serve.


Your role

As Manager, Operations for Specialized Community Services, you will:

Ensure Effective Residential Operations:

  • Work with the Operations Supervisors to ensure that the daily operation of assigned homes meets with regional licensing and CBI Health standards and they are providing direction to staff aligned with policies and procedures and professional conduct.
  • Create an environment that aligns with CBI Health’s Purpose, Promise and Values, drawing and retaining high-performing talent that naturally lives the values of the organization.
  • Foster and deepen relationships with existing business partners and stakeholders to increase access with existing services and to identify gaps that create new service delivery opportunities.
  • Accountable for ensuring that Operations Supervisors, Support Staff and Team Lead are scheduled for all homes.
  • Conducts monthly and annual inspections in each home, ensuring compliance with safety standards and licensing requirements for all homes.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of stakeholder priorities, strategic direction, and gaps in service provision to ensure the Region is well positioned to create and execute on innovative solutions to stakeholder challenges.
  • Actively delegate and provide feedback to meet regional objectives.
  • Deploy mechanisms to promote and demonstrate accountability and related action planning.
  • Ensure appropriate resources are available and allocated effectively.
  • Work with the team to ensure follow through on the Individual Support Plan (ISP) / Person Centred Plan (PCP) and Behavioural Support Plan (BSP) protocols.
  • Ensure clinical and operational performance indicators in the Region are tracking to, or exceeding, expectations.

Leadership and People Management

  • Proactively liaise with the Talent Acquisition team to attract and retain qualified staff.
  • Lead by example, coaching, mentoring and supporting the growth and development of leaders and future leaders within the region, and ensuring career paths and leadership development are tangible and attainable for high performers.
  • Work closely and provide leadership to clinical/operational and support staff to ensure overall smooth operations.
  • Ensure support staff are well aligned with the key accountabilities of their role and are meeting performance expectations.
  • Provide support to workforce, leads debriefing of operational incidents, completes appropriate documentation and engages additional resources as required.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures as well as regional licensing requirements.

What you will need to be successful

To take on the role of Manager, Operations, Specialized Community Services, you should:

  • Have post secondary education in a Health Occupation, Business or Public Administration or a related discipline.
  • Have a minimum of 7 years management experience in a operations role, health care environment is an asset (experience in a residential & transitional setting would be preferred).
  • Have a track record of successful operations management and/or residential home management.
  • Inspire team work with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Be open to direction and works well in a collaborative and fast paced environment.
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work as part of a team in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Be committed to ensuring a positive resident and family experience.
  • Understand health equity, diversity, Person Centered Planning and Inclusion strategies.
  • Be computer literate and proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Preferably, have strong knowledge of the Social Services system in Saskatchewan.
  • Preferably, experience managing a union environment
  • Must live in Saskatoon and have the ability to travel
