Global Art Canada’s purpose is to provide a systematic yet straightforward approach for teaching art to children aged 3 through 17. We cultivate a child’s natural creativity and critical thinking through art education and training, in order to optimize their potential for future success. You will play an important role in supporting the learning and development of children through our Core and Enhancement Programs. You will share a special bond with students as you partner with their parents to witness their development. We are looking for kind, vibrant, and self-motivated individuals to join us as an Art Educator at our globalart centre located in central Richmond, BC.

Our ideal Art Educator will have:

  • Experience working with children
  • Availability to work weekday evenings between 3:45pm - 7:15pm; weekend availability as well
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills with students and parents alike
  • Self-motivated, and can take initiative in a small classroom setting required
  • Ability to communicate in a second language
  • Prior working experience in the Art Education industry will be an asset
  • Good teamwork, responsible, supportive and respect for other team members
  • Fresh graduates or students are welcome - no experience required. Training will be provided for fresh graduates or students.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete globalart Art Educator Training
  • Deliver programs in accordance to globalart’s standard and methodology
  • Demonstrate and guide students to use globalart techniques and medium
  • Preparing classes, workshops, camps, and other promotional events
  • Communicate and review clear learning objectives
  • Assess and evaluate student's performance on a regular basis
  • Provide feedback to relevant stakeholders about each student's progress
  • Monitor and maintain classroom inventory
  • Plan and present art displays
  • Work with other Art Educators to collaboratively or independently create artwork examples and demos
  • Attending to enquires, recommend suitable program after trials and scheduling of classes
  • Administrative duties to support the teaching and running of the studio, includes work at the reception desk in the centre
  • Maintain centre cleanliness with proper housekeeping
  • Regularly conduct and maintain a detailed assessment and progress report of each assigned student
  • Collaborate with other educators, consultants, and administrators in providing administrative support and communicating with clients

Job Details:

  • Tuesday to Friday between 3:45pm - 7:15pm
  • Saturday between 10:15 AM - 4:15 PM
  • Sunday availability
  • Paid training with increase in hourly rate after successful completion of training
  • Location: Unit 240 15355 24 Ave, Surrey, BC

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 18 per week

Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
