Harris Law, Personal Injury Lawyers PC is considering hiring an Articling Student for the 2024/2025 year. If you are looking to gain immeasurable experience in personal injury, hone your research skills and advocate for clients during the claims process, we have the position for you!

Business Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Remuneration: $55,000.00 -- $60,000.00

How You’ll Make a Difference:

  • Advocate for the client through brief writing and submissions.
  • Attendance at mediation, pretrial, examinations for discovery and client meetings with the assigned lawyer to better assist the client’s proceeding, as required
  • Attend internal meetings to ensure everyone is up to date on the claims you’re working on
  • Provide assistance with the client intake process and respond to both basic and complex client inquiries by e-mail and/or telephone to ensure that documents are processed, and any obstacles are anticipated and dealt with
  • Effectively communicate with clients regarding procedural and case processing issues, identify client solutions and understand current client activity
  • Participate in office-wide projects, including training and process improvement
  • Attendance at Motion Court, Trial Scheduling Court, Speak to Court, and other Court or Tribunal appearances as required, on routine matters

Requirements:

  • Law Degree: Completion or near-completion of a law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Articling Placement: Enrolled or eligible to be enrolled in an articling program approved by the Law Society of Ontario.

Salary: $1,057.70-$1,153.84 per week
