Under the direction of the Assembly Division Manager, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by assembling products, components, or parts to create finished goods. As a part of our Assembly team, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the assembly of products, ensuring daily production and efficiency goals are met and that all items meet our quality standards and specifications for our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interpret and follow assembly instructions, schematics, and other technical documents.
  • Understand and adhere to quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Assemble parts or components to create finished products by using hand and power tools, such as power drills, screwdrivers, silicone guns, and more.
  • Inspect, test, and package assembled products to ensure they meet quality standards and perform according to their work instructions.
  • Address and defects or issues throughout the assembly process and promptly escalate them to your supervisor.
  • Work efficiently to meet production quotas and deadlines and report and delays, bottlenecks, or issues that may affect the production schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately.
  • Keep assembly tools and equipment is good working condition and perform routine inspections on tools and machinery to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Report any discrepancies or variances from established procedures to ensure finished products are meeting quality and safety procedures.
  • Suggest and participate in process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality practices.
Skills, Education, and/or Experience
The following are education and experience criteria used to evaluate the suitability of the Assembly Worker Profile or candidates for the position:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in assembly or manufacturing roles preferred.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools required.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality.
  • Technical skills required for computers and tablets.
  • Good communication skills required; both official languages an asset.
  • Able to work proficiently in a team-oriented setting, as well as independently.
  • Basic math skills may be required.
Job Conditions
Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and looking at a computer.
  • Moderate physical effort – able to lift between 10 and 50lbs at times.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Sitting, lifting, squatting, pushing, or reaching for intermittent or extended periods.
Work Environment:
  • Factory, Warehouse, Distribution Center, Office
  • May be exposed to loud, repetitive sounds from machinery or equipment
  • May use chemicals or other in accordance with MSDS
  • May operate machinery in close proximity or with objects exposed to eyes or face
