Carrots n Dates specializes in vegetarian breakfast, lunch, dinner and catering, and we pride ourselves on our ability to deliver quality products in a friendly and inviting environment, no matter if you’re eating in or on the go. In the past few years we have expanded our bakery department and sell an assortment of organic and gluten free raw desserts, baked goods, house made breads etc.
We are looking for someone who not only has experience with baking but who can assist our lead baker in taking this creative foundation to the next level. We are open to new ideas and want someone to help elevate our bakery to it's fullest potential.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Baker with at least one year of previous experience in a bakery. You will be responsible for creating new recipes, preparing daily baked goods & bread, raw dessert creation and working along side our lead baker.
The ideal Assistant Baker would be a resourceful, respectful, process-oriented problem solver, who can communicate clearly while working in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail and organizational skills. Our staff works as a team and are all cross train regularly. We believe in a fun happy place to work where you can be yourself.
Assistant Baker Requirements:
- 1-2+ years experience in baking
- Baking and understanding whole food, health oriented baking ingredients is a bonus! (organic, gluten-free ingredients)
- Open availability (mornings, nights, weekends)
- Able to follow recipes, and have a positive attitude.
- Experience in working closely with other staff members
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Assistant Baker Duties & Responsibilities:
- Experimenting to develop new flavours and desserts and coming up with new recipes
- Report and working along side Bakery Lead & General Manager
- Assisting Lead Baker with day to day baking preparation and duties
- Prepare ingredients for baking by weighing, measuring, and mixing them
- Stocking the shelves, cleaning the baking area, and greeting customers.
- Ensures all food preparation is completed to company standards and on time with minimal wastage
