Assistant Manager, New Balance Toronto/Fit4Balance Inc.
Job Summary
In support of their Store Manager, the Assistant Manager, New Balance Toronto shall be responsible for the effective and profitable operation of their respective New Balance Toronto store location and the successful management of the store’s sales personnel. With the support of their Store Manager and the General Manager, Fit4Balance Inc., they will aid in managing store operations and staff in line with Fit4Balance Inc.’s policies, procedures and values in order to optimize store sales, profitability, growth, and operational efficiency.
Details of Job Functions
- Embody and promote all Fit4Balance Inc. policies, leading operational success and efficiency through personal example as well as staff management and delegation, ensuring that all Fit4Balance Inc. standards are achieved in their store
- Aid the Store Manager in maintaining successful and productive store operation through collaboration on the strategic and effective scheduling of staff, successful delegation of operational tasks, and appropriate follow-up on all work results
- Aid the Store Manager in managing store staffing through recruitment, selection, orientation and training of new employees as necessary
- Optimize store staff job performance through coaching, motivating, counseling and disciplining employees and the consistent planning, monitoring and appraising of daily job results
- In conjunction with the Store Manager, achieve store sales and profitability objectives through collaboration on the effective management of store expenditures, staff payroll allocation and successful staff job performance
- Maintain ongoing staff training in order to ensure all employees continuously meet Fit4Balance Inc. service standards and continuously offer outstanding customer service
- In conjunction with Store Manager and General Manager, maintain ongoing tracking and communication of store-specific performance in order to plan and implement effective and positive store-level initiatives in responses to sales and conversion trends and to ultimately drive store sales and fulfill company targets
- Contributes to team performance, exemplifying positive job performance and consistently accomplishing related results

- Successful experience in retail sales and management
- Track record of meeting sales targets and successful performance management
- Understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the retail sector
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
