What is the opportunity?

As the Associate, Business Development - Japan, you will be responsible for supporting and helping to execute the agreed sales/service plan for Japanese client base and supporting the broader team for existing clients and prospects as requested.

What will you do?

  • Supporting colleagues in mainly pension sales team with ad hoc requests.
  • Researching and producing market / client / prospect intelligence.
  • Maintenance of databases (including Salesforce) to ensure the effective service of clients and prospects. This includes taking responsibility for the quality of the data input into the Client Management System.
  • Helping to manage and coordinate campaigns and marketing, including collating documents and preparing presentations.
  • Ensuring that sales activities are aligned with the objectives of the Global Business Development’s business plan and of the broader firm.
  • Meeting with mainly existing clients in pension funds on a periodic basis for updates and due diligence purposes, promoting strategies for potential investment and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Promptly recording and disseminating information on communications, meetings and calls with prospects and investors in the form of call memos.
  • Building a close working relationship with other divisions to identify business opportunities to mainly existing clients.
  • Acting in accordance with guidelines issued by Compliance and Legal with respect to marketing only in Japan and ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory and legal obligations.
  • Ensuring that all marketing materials and other materials provided to clients in pension funds are “clear, fair and not misleading” in compliance with local regulations and with guidelines set out by Compliance.
