Associate - Business Development Operations – 12-18 Month Contract

The opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated, confident individual to join - our Canadian Strategy and Transactions (SaT) team. As an Associate on our team focused on Business Development Operations, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation and delivery of key Business Development, marketing and communications related elements of our national SaT business plan. With specific focus on supporting our Lead Advisory teams (our M&A, Capital Markets, Infrastructure Advisory, Transactions Real Estate and Corporate Finance Strategy business units), you will manage the processes, workflows, and delivery of communications and projects critical to various functions and operations of our practice, while aligning to the firm's overall strategy.
The position requires strong project management skills, attention-to-detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines. Responsibilities:

  • Manage our national transactions databases and oversee all aspects of our closed transactions communication process – including lists management, and standardized internal and external announcements (email, social media, etc.) while coordinating with relevant internal teams (such as Design, Compliance, Translations, Social Media, and Marketing Operations teams) to deploy important communications accurately and on-time.
  • Support the development, design, writing, and editing, of Lead Advisory thought-leadership, brochures, newsletters, and other marketing assets for our SaT business.
  • Support the development of standardized documentation and processes for Lead Advisory sub service lines. This includes liaising with Compliance, Risk and Creative departments, as well as national leaders / stakeholders and in some cases, Global contacts
  • Coordinate with EY's internal Marketing and Digital teams to maintain and develop existing content, including webpages, blogs, videos, and other market-facing content. This includes proactively curating content from EY Global and working with writers and stakeholders to publish specific Canadian content.
  • Establish and manage processes to maintain and refresh the national biography repository, credentials, CVs, social media profiles and internal profiles. This includes formatting (in MS Word, PowerPoint or other EY proprietary platforms), proofreading, and editing files to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Assist with internal and external event execution, including townhalls, webinars, and networking events.
  • Proactively identify and initiate ways to improve operations and processes.
  • Other research and administrative responsibilities, as needed.
  • Other projects and initiatives to support the overall SaT Service Line, as needed.

  • Strong understanding of marketing asset development – including the mechanics of list management, email marketing, and social media
  • Experience liaising with multiple internal departments, in addition to stakeholders to execute vison
  • Anticipates needs, problems and seeks to resolve them proactively with appropriate manager and team support
  • Team player who will form strong internal relationships among national, Americas and Global colleagues as appropriate; helps to connect dots and share best practices
  • Shows resourcefulness and understands different communication styles to suit various levels of leadership
  • Independent thinker who is curious to learn, grow and gain deeper knowledge of the firm and its functions

To qualify for the role you must have

  • 3 +years of relevant working experience
  • Degree in business, communications or relevant field
  • Fluency in English (written and oral)
  • IT literacy and direct working experience of Microsoft Office
  • Event management experience including liaising with vendors, arranging catering requirements, conducting site visits, event invite management platforms, CASL regulations and general list management tactics.
