Az Delivery Truck Driver - 4Am Start

Yard location: Cornwall, ON
8 to 12 hour shift - Day shift - 4AM to 4PM (Shift end time depends on any traffic delays, mechanical breakdowns, weather conditions and or freight volume).
Workdays: Monday to Friday
No Weekends
No Statutory Holidays
Overtime paid after 9 hours of work

What you will do:

• Drive a Refrigerated Tractor Trailer to deliver freights to assigned stops within Cornwall and surrounding areas
• Deliver freights in good condition and within scheduled time (1 to 6 deliveries. Some pick-ups may be required based on business needs).
• Use a handheld device to scan documents and freights
• Mostly Pin to Pin/Dock to Dock work. Unload freight at selected client location with the use of a manual or power pallet jack.
• Complete any necessary paperwork accurately
• Perform all safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspection
• Report on all safety hazards and accidents
• Use a cellular phone to communicate with dispatch ie. Truck breakdowns, delivery concerns, answer calls, texts etc….
• Provide excellent customer service
• Build strong client relationships
• Adhere to safety and compliance regulations
• Additional duties as required

What we require of you:

• High School Diploma
• Valid AZ Commercial Driver’s License_ Able to drive Manual or Automatic Transmission_
• Clean CVOR and Personal Driver’s Abstract
• Courier or LTL experience is an asset
• Must have 1 year COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVINGexperience on the road
• This shift will be Monday to Friday. Overtime will be paid.
• At times, capable of doing physical labour with a great degree of strength and stamina – offload skids with the use of a manual/power pallet jack
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
• Customer Focus – experience providing quality customer service
• Adaptable to change
• Experience working in a fast paced environment
• Experience working independently and with minimal supervision
• Ability to work on a team and being a team player
