The Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to become our Banquet Manager. The successful candidate must be a true service professional committed to the highest levels of guest satisfaction. We are a full-service property with 45,000 sq feet of banquet space and the manager will be overseeing approximately 90 staff members. We are seeking a vibrant and dedicated Banquet Manager to oversee the following responsibilities:
- Implements Company's high level of standards throughout the banquet team, ensuring guest satisfaction and maximizing revenues.
- Ensures all laws and regulations pertaining to the food service industry and hotel policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Assists with the development, implementation and follow up of menus, marketing promotions, service delivery, and team incentives etc.
- Successful problem solver for both guests/customers and colleagues concerns.
- Assists in recruiting, training, developing, scheduling and supervising of banquet service staff.
- Provides strong leadership through positive reinforcement, training, and coaching.
- Assists with managing labour expenses within productivity guidelines.
- Assists in developing and implementing short term goals and strategies to achieve objectives and motivate employees.
- Motivates employees and develops strong channels of communication by maintaining good relations and encouraging team spirit and empowerment.
- Follows Health and Safety policies and procedures, and actively promotes a safe, clean and healthy work environment
- Ensures all equipment is in proper working order.
- Leads a team of dedicated professionals to ensure the highest quality experience is provided to guests/customers.
Job Requirements:
- Two years Banquet managerial experience in a hotel with at least 15,000 sq feet of banquet space
- Two years of unionized hotel supervision experience
- College Diploma in Hospitality or Food & Beverage preferred
- Dedicated to providing excellent guest/customer service
- Excellent communication and people skills required
- Ability to lead and motivate employees
- Knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and an understanding of culinary terms
- Smart Serve certification is required
- Presentable and well-groomed
- Flexible schedule (AM, PM, weekends and holidays)
- Enthusiastic customer service attitude with attention to detail
- Strong Team player
- Maintains integrity, dependability and accountability
