PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Event Supervisor is responsible for preparing and overseeing all functions, in-house and offsite in order to ensure that events are executed as planned and with the highest standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.**Event Execution
- Organize, and execute a wide range of events, including conferences, meetings, weddings, and social gatherings
- Coordinate with clients to understand their event requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless event execution
- Coordinate event setup and teardown, ensuring all equipment and materials are properly prepared and returned
- Manage event timelines to ensure all activities are executed on schedule
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and guests throughout the event
- Supervise and manage banquet team members to ensure productivity and accurate set-ups according to the banquet event order.
- Serve guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
- Communicate guest orders including special needs or requests to the kitchen
- Be the clients' advocate in all areas to ensure outstanding guest experiences
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
- Perform other related duties as needed
2.**Event Preparation/Administrative
- Plan, organize, direct and evaluate the operations of the event spaces
- Maintain a liaison with the sales staff to ensure that all function information is current
- Assist with linen, alcohol and beer inventories and place orders as needed
- Receive banquet deliveries and ensure they are received complete
- Assists with the hiring, training and development of banquet staff
- Set staff schedules and monitoring of day-to-day shifts to minimize payroll costs
- Prepare performance evaluations for banquet staff as needed
- Perform other related duties as needed
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in event management or related field
- Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and team members
