Barista/Cashier

We are looking for a Barista to join our dedicated and enthusiastic front-of-house team. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for making delicious coffee drinks and ensuring customers have a positive experience at our café. The successful individual will have extensive experience working with a variety of customer types, an enthusiasm for learning about new ways to prepare coffee, and the ability to multi-task in a busy café environment.

Responsibilities:

1.Provide excellent customer service by taking and fulfilling customer orders with a friendly and efficient demeanor.

2.Operate cash registers and handle financial transactions accurately.

3.Prepare and serve a variety of bakery items, including coffee beverages, following established recipes and presentation standards.

4.Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the cashier station and barista area.

5.Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the entire bakery premises, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces regularly.

6.Stock and replenish bakery products and supplies as needed.

7.Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth workflow and meet customer demands.

8.Communicate effectively with customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

9.Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for both staff and customers.

10.Assist in opening and closing duties, including securing cash registers and locking up the premises.

Qualifications:

1.Previous experience in cashiering or barista roles preferred.

2.Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.

3.Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.

4.Basic knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and familiarity with bakery products.

5.Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

6.Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.

7.Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: From $16.75 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
