Boat Yard Assistant / Delivery Captain

Job Summary:

As a Yard Assistant at Town & Country Marine, you will be responsible for manoeuvring boats and trailers using a tractor. Boats will be moved in and out of service and cleaning bays, and placed in their appropriate place in the lot set up.

Competencies:

This time of year will be busy as people bring their boats in to be shrink wrapped and stored for the winter. We need an individual who is efficient and accurate in all tasks that they are given, as well as someone who is self-motivated. It is also important that this individual works in compliance with all applicable health and safety legislation and established policies and procedures. Teamwork is also an extremely important skill to working as a Yard Assistant at Town & Country Marine because in order for the workplace to run smoothly, this individual must be able to work cooperatively with others in the workplace.

Job Duties:

The movement and organization of boats in and out of service bays and into their allotted place on the lot. Visual inspection of equipment daily to ensure proper maintenance and operation. Responsible for ensuring that the property is kept presentable and occasionally aiding technicians.

Job Requirements:

Experience with tractor and trailers is required, while experience working at a marina is preferred. You must be able to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time. There will also be a fair amount of physical labour.

Work Conditions:

Must be prepared to work outdoors, no matter the weather conditions. Required to use necessary personal protective equipment, while operating tools, machinery and equipment. This job will also involve extended periods of standing and physically demanding jobs.

Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
