Yard Sales Assistant

Sipkens Nurseries is hiring a Yard Sales & Service Attendant!

With an anticipated April start date, we are looking for a team member to assist customers in the yard with their purchases of hardgoods. Other tasks include:

• Weighing, loading/unloading products and materials (ie: natural stone, bulk stone, mulch etc) for customers and delivery drivers
• Ascertaining customers’ needs and providing informed information pertaining to hardgoods, bulk materials, services, and landscaping
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the service yard
• Performing inventory counts and restocking as needed
• Keep clear lines of communication with retail staff and management
• Assist with occasional customer deliveries

Requirements:

• Customer service experience required
• Machinery operation experience/certification considered a great asset
• Valid G license and clean abstract required
• Forklift license an asset but training can be provided

Job Type: Full-time seasonal (3-8 months);

As a retail garden centre we require availability of Saturdays and some holidays during the busy seasons.

Working Conditions: The majority of work will be in the retail store, parking lot and stone yard. You must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and be capable of bending/standing/walking for extended periods of time as well as working in varied weather conditions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
Contract length: 4-9 months

Salary: From $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
