Yard Assistant

We are currently seeking a qualified Yard Inventory Assistant for our Walton, ON location!

The Truck Driver is responsible for the pickup, transfer, and delivery of equipment between company locations and customers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver equipment to customers in a timely manner with all necessary documents completed
• Complete equipment transfers between all company locations.
• Operate vehicle in compliance with municipal driving and regulations as well as with company policies and procedures
• Conduct thorough vehicle and tractor-trailer inspections for mechanical and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Completes inspection lists and forms accurately.
• Coordinate daily trucking plans with trucking department personnel to meet delivery schedules
• Communicate with customers upon delivery/ pick up of equipment regarding specific drop off points
• Discuss equipment issues, maintenance plans and work performed with customers
• Responsible for being aware of road closures, construction zones, unavailable bridges, and any other circumstance which may affect delivery routes. Responsible for responding promptly by taking the most efficient trucking routes

Preferred Experience Required

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Hands on experience with electronic navigation equipment and software (GPS)
• Must be comfortable with current technology. Proficient with the following computer environments: Current Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office

Education

• Completion of high school or vocational equivalent
• Valid G Driver's License required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
