Schedule: Monday to Friday (Variable)
Work Location: *Preferable Salmon Arm, BC (Work from home)
Duties:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify transactions and resolve discrepancies
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
- Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets
- Process payroll and maintain employee records
- Monitor cash flow and manage petty cash
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with regulations
- Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation
Qualifications:
- Must possess or have access to personal accounting software, e.g., Sage, for streamlined bookkeeping
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- 3-5 years' experience required in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of budgeting processes is a plus
- Associate's degree in accounting or related field is preferred
