Bookkeeper

Ruth and Naomi’s (RAN) is a Christian faith-based organization with a vision and commitment to see the lives of people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and struggling with addiction transformed by the love of God. To assist in this work, we are seeking a full-time bookkeeper to work in our admin office.

The bookkeeper is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in day-to-day operations including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, information technology, petty cash, and financial reporting. We are seeking a detail oriented, focused individual with a strong understanding of financial systems who is a confident self-starter and has a heart for our mission.

Job Description & Duties

• Oversee AP/AR, ensuring accounts are up-to-date and free from errors
• Support payroll, including but not limited to assisting with accruals, time off entries, and ensuring employee information is current and accurate, liaising with Human Resources as needed
• Reconcile bank, credit card, petty cash, and compensation accounts on a timely basis
• Support on creation and implementation of financial policies and processes
• Participate in donor management and preparation of tax receipts
• Collate financial data and statistics as directed
• Manage electronic and physical financial records, filing and distributing information as appropriate
• Participate in implementation of IT systems as directed
• Other tasks as assigned

Assets & Experience

• Certificate or degree in accounting preferred
• Demonstrated experience in an equivalent role required
• Strong understanding of digital tools – experience in SAGE, Kindful, & Sharepoint an asset, high proficiency in the Microsoft suite and the ability to quickly learn new technologies required
• Excellent communication skills

• Standard hours are 8-4pm Monday-Friday, however flexibility can be negotiated for current students, parents, etc. who need to work around other commitments

Salary: $46,000.00-$54,000.00 per year
