Protec Dental Laboratories is a growing full-service dental laboratory located in Olympic Village area. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in a commercial Building Maintenance Worker role. The ideal candidate must have good communication and interpersonal skills, a natural curiosity and willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment as a team player and independently.
The Building Maintenance Worker will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.
What You Will Be Doing
- Perform maintenance tasks based on pictures, blueprints, written descriptions and oral instructions.
- Perform preventative maintenance works to avoid possible failures and malfunctions
- Analyze and troubleshoot repair and maintenance requests including repairing dry wall, machines, equipment, building surfaces, replacing light bulbs, etc., as necessary.
- Handle emergency maintenances and repairs.
- Install appliances and equipment.
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm).
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to be in safe, clean and good working conditions.
- Stock adequate maintenance materials and equipment to avoid shortages and excesses.
- Maintain complete records of daily maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals.
- Attend job training and safety programs organized by maintenance department.
- Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
- Aid co-workers when needed.
- Perform other related duties and activities as required.
What You Will Need
- Minimum 3 years of experience performing routine maintenance of buildings and equipment
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Good command of the English language, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good with technology
- Strong attention to detail
- Good knowledge of Building Maintenance, HVAC systems, small equipment repairs, carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical systems
- Skilled use of hand and electrical tools
- Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
- Professional presentation and attitude.
- Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
Hours of Work
- Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day from 10 AM – 7 PM
- Late shift vacation coverage when needed from 1 PM – 10 PM
- Able and willing work some weekends
- Able and willing to work overtime
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $25.00 per hour
