Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, Terra Bruce Productions, and their affiliate The Majestic Theatre, is seeking a Business Manager - Finance & Administration to join their team in St. John's, NL.

A newly renovated and reopened historic theatre in downtown St. John's. a 290+ seat theatre, this beloved community arts space is the home of Terra Bruce Productions Inc., and available for community partner events, productions, and festivals. The venue also holds Theatre Hill, our main floor bar + café, with a small stage.

Position Summary
Responsible for managing the day-to-day business of the Majestic Theatre and overseeing all departments that interact with clients and audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial aspects include monitoring, updating, and reporting on departmental and core budgets, monitoring cash flows, cash deposits, payables and receivables, and company payroll.
  • Establish effective systems for managing income, expenditures, and daily cash flow.
  • Produce regular management accounts and other financial reporting documents for the Managing Director.
  • Departmental management.
  • Oversee the daily operations of Theatre Hill Bar & Café, led by Hospitality Manager.
  • Support the Managing Director to ensure company meets its legal, statutory, and contractual obligations.
  • Lead business development opportunities.
  • Monitor, manage and respond to client experience.
  • Oversee and maintain internal and external communications.
  • Help to foster a collaborative atmosphere among staff, patrons, and clients.
  • Various other business management duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Background and/or education in business with concentration in finance/accounting.
  • 3+ years' experience managing a café, restaurant, theatre or other related small business.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks
  • Familiarity with the Square POS (point-of-sale) system is an asset.
  • Administrative and Human Resources background or experience.

Salary & Benefits:

  • $70,000-80,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience. Based on 40 hours weekly (weekend and evening work may be required).
  • Health & Dental benefits after a 3-month probation period.
