Overall Accountability

The Business Manager supervises and monitors all school accounting functions and is responsible for monitoring and reporting on fiscal activity for the school.

Specific Accountabilities

• Plans and oversees fiscal activities for the school

• Prepares and monitors budgets

• Compiles and analyzes data to prepare various reports and summaries

• Supervises and guides the work of school accounting staff

• Monitors audit procedures and controls, merchandising and fund-raising activities

• Monitors the purchasing and receiving functions

• Oversees and manages setup and collection of school and District fees

• Oversees and maintains control of all keys issued to staff

• Manages Tubby bus records, including inspections and maintenance in accordance with Provincial Highway Traffic Act

Qualifications

• Bachelor of commerce or equivalent degree with accounting major and/or a recognized accounting designation, or

• Two (2) year accounting diploma with a minimum of two (2) years’ related experience

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Rycor Fee management system and School Cash Net

• Excellent knowledge of school information records system software

• Well organized and able to multi-task in a busy work environment

• Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
