Overall Accountability
The Business Manager supervises and monitors all school accounting functions and is responsible for monitoring and reporting on fiscal activity for the school.
Specific Accountabilities
Plans and oversees fiscal activities for the school
Prepares and monitors budgets
Compiles and analyzes data to prepare various reports and summaries
Supervises and guides the work of school accounting staff
Monitors audit procedures and controls, merchandising and fund-raising activities
Monitors the purchasing and receiving functions
Oversees and manages setup and collection of school and District fees
Oversees and maintains control of all keys issued to staff
Manages Tubby bus records, including inspections and maintenance in accordance with Provincial Highway Traffic Act
Qualifications
Bachelor of commerce or equivalent degree with accounting major and/or a recognized accounting designation, or
Two (2) year accounting diploma with a minimum of two (2) years’ related experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Rycor Fee management system and School Cash Net
Excellent knowledge of school information records system software
Well organized and able to multi-task in a busy work environment
Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
