About Us:

Good Health CPS Guelph Cardiac Clinic is a new cardiac diagnostic clinic in the heart of Guelph. It brings together the experience of K-W CardioPulmonary Services an independent and accredited health facility serving Kitchener, Waterloo since 1988 with the Good Health Cardiac Clinic group focused on bringing a patient centric, digitally focused approach to expanding access to key cardiac diagnostic services across Ontario and beyond.

Position Summary:

We are currently looking for an experienced and driven Cardiac Sonographer for a permanent full-time position. The Cardiac Sonographer will work alongside our team to perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and contrast echocardiography for our patients. The sonographers are expected to perform these tests in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. They will be responsible for preparing a full preliminary report for cardiologist review and are expected to be able to correctly identify cardiac pathologies.

The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of imaging procedures and the operation of equipment. The individual must maintain a high standard of medical ethics, ability to work independently, with a professional attitude and a drive to succeed

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Conduct transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) to visualize and assess the structure and function of the heart.
  • Perform Doppler studies to evaluate blood flow patterns, velocities, and pressure gradients within the heart and blood vessels.
  • Produce high-quality echocardiographic images, ensuring accurate and detailed documentation of findings.
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout the echocardiographic procedure.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay updated on the latest advancements in cardiac sonography.
  • Applicants must be self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills; dealing effectively with patients, physicians, and the community
  • Proficient in Regular 2D echo, Contrast Echo
  • Flexible and able to prioritize and accommodate urgent requests
  • Prepare accurate preliminary reports for physician interpretation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to handle stressful situations effectively
  • Excellent time management skills

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is an asset

Job Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited cardiac sonography program and CMRITO eligible
  • Certified with CMRITO
  • Recent experience performing cardiac sonography and related tasks as outlined above
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Current BCLS required
  • New DCS grads welcome to apply

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
