NUREX provides Home Medication management to patients in the community. We collaborate with local pharmacies to deliver, administer and document medication-focused care. Your role as a Care Aide is to assess, interpret, and administer medications for patients to optimize their health. NUREX emphasizes the patient's autonomy and the ability for individuals to maintain their independence, we hope to support and advocate for the patient's well-being with our medication-focused care.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Graduation from a recognized Health Care Aide program, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Eligible for registration with the BC Care Aide Registry.

Requirements:

• Valid BC Driver’s License and personal vehicle
• Local area travel is required and mileage will be reimbursed

Knowledge & Abilities:

• Broad knowledge of chronic illnesses management in the community
• Broad knowledge of community resources and policies
• Ability to use basic computer programs (Google Drive, Google Doc, Microsoft Excel)
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrates skill in CPR techniques is an asset

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work independently in a community setting
• Medication Pick- up and delivery to patient’s homes in the community
• Communicate with the patient on your role and actions through professionalism and with bedside manners
• Demonstrate focused Nursing Assessments specific to the patient (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, blood glucose)
• Administer medication safely (oral pills, topical creams, topical patches)
• Document all assessment data and interventions
• Notify RN/LPN if any changes/concerns about the patient’s normal baseline
• Submit computerized daily reports to the RN/LPN and/or pharmacy

Available shifts:

• Mon-Fri 0730-1230,
• Sat-Sun 0730-1230,
• Mon-Fri 1500-1900,

Salary: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
