CARPENTERS ASSISTANT
Job Description
Paul Davis is a nationally recognized leader in the restoration industry. We are currently seeking Carpenter Assistants in our Restoration division. The ideal candidate will have some carpentry experience, a strong sense of accountability, take pride in their work, and will employ effective customer service and interpersonal skills. Working under the direction of the Production Manager and Lead Carpenter, the Carpenter assistant will complete assigned restoration activities and tasks to meet project timelines and quality standards, on residential and commercial restoration / rebuild projects.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Competence in the following areas: framing, insulation, vapor barrier, drywall, deck and fence, finish carpentry including trim, baseboard, casings, doors and windows, painting, sheathing, securing structures as necessary, set up and removal of containment and protection barriers etc.
- Demolition and debris disposal, as necessary.
- Excellent craftsmanship.
- Attention to detail.
- Flexibility to manage unexpected situations and changing priorities, calmly and effectively.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- A strong sense of empathy and customer service skills.
- Ability to positively represent self and our brand in all job-related interactions.
- Respect for other people’s privacy, property, and information.
- Ability to work effectively independently, and as part of a team/crew.
- Ability to effectively utilize mobile phone applications.
- Understanding and utilization of workplace safety principles and practices; adherence to all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment, and adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting of weights up to 40lbs, and occasional lifting of weights greater than 40lbs.
- Access and mobility in confined spaces.
- Occasional working at heights greater than 5 feet.
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, bending, and kneeling.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday 7:30am – 5pm.
- On-call - Rotational.
- Overtime – Occasional, as necessary.
Job Type: Full-time.
Compensation: $20.00/hr to $23/hr – commensurate with skill and experience.
