Job Summary

Macdero Construction, a 40-year-old company specializing in Building Restoration, is seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to measure, cut, and install building construction materials with good craftsmanship while exhibiting a strong work ethic. Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and assemble materials such as wood, metal, and plastic using hand and power tools.
• Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures, including framing, formwork, and scaffolding.
• Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Adhere to Macdero company safety policy standards and protocols on job sites.
• General blueprint reading.
• Assisting in general site-specific tasks, i.e.: concrete pours.
• Other work-related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

• Experience as a Carpenter.
• Knowledge of various carpentry techniques and construction methods.
• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, including saws, and drills.
• Ability to read/interpret drawings/details, including working with accurate dimensions.
• Team-oriented with a focus on common sense building practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to take instruction from Supervisors and execute tasks.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation as this position requires going to different job sites in the GTA.

Must-Have:

• Basic tool kit with a tape measure, carpenter pouch, and hammer.
• WHMIS and Working at Heights certified (training can be provided if required).
• Steel-toe green patchwork boots and rubber boots.

Additional Information:

Hourly Rate: $28 - $30.00
