Cashier / Front Of House All-Rounder

Sweet Thea Bakery is looking for an experienced cashier/retail all-rounder for our new location at 32nd and Main Street in Vancouver. We 'soft opened ' for 4 days last week, so we are certain this is going to be a busy and energized job, with a great tip pool. We are in a great neighborhood, close to Queen Elizabeth Park and the Nat Bailey Stadium. Sweet Thea on Main Street is a combination bakery and coffee shop, with a small menu for breakfast, lunch, and brunch service. It will be open 7am - 7pm daily, seven days a week after our Grand Opening in the middle of March.

Your shifts will be determined by our work load - but like everywhere in the service you industry, every team member can expect to be on site weekends and some holidays.
Sweet Thea is well known in the community for high quality baked goods, with all items hand-made using real ingredients. We are community minded, and striving to create an upbeat, safe and friendly environment for our friends and customers. As we are baking on-site, this is not a good position for anyone who is gluten or dairy intolerant, sorry. If you are considering commuting - we are at 32nd and Main Street in Vancouver - not all transit routes get here easily

Responsibilities:
- Take customer orders and provide exceptional customer service
- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee shop area
- Assist with food preparation and ensure food safety guidelines are followed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations

Experience:
- Previous experience in the service industry is essential
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and using a point-of-sale (POS) system
- Ability to handle food safely and follow proper hygiene practices
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude
