Project Overview

Bechtel Infrastructure will work in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for the Ontario Line Project in Toronto, Ontario.  The project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by two key PPP Contractors (Project Cos) and other Contractors for the balance of the scope.  The project interfaces with both the City of Toronto (COT) and Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).  Bechtel form a key component of the overall Integrated Project Delivery team (comprising the customer, Metrolinx; the Technical Advisor, and Bechtel as the Delivery Partner). 
Position Summary
The Common Data Environment (CDE) Specialist is responsible for managing and administrating the project CDE (ProjectWise) to support delivery of the Ontario Line Project.  The CDE Specialist is responsible for management of the cross-functional collaboration environment, including ProjectWise, iTwin, Synchro, and interfaces to other information management tools.
Responsibilities
-Manage and administer the Project CDE including folder structures, workflows, permission groups and other configurations 
-Ensures the CDE meets the information requirements, and industry wide standards (i.e. ISO19650).   
-Respond to requests from delivery teams to ensure proper access and configuration of the CDE is maintained to support project delivery 
-Propose, develop and deploy ProjectWise scripts to support configuration, reporting and other capabilities 
-Coordinate with Project Contractors to ensure the shared-state CDE and related workflows are properly maintained and kept in-line with project requirements 
-Support and review the project BIM strategy, requirements, and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) 
-Support BIM production by the project teams, championing: Common Data Environment (CDE), model federation and interference management, quality checking deliverables (3D/2D), model coordination and deliverable generation to satisfy project BIM uses. 
-Developing/Enhancing, communicating and institutionalizing standardized ISO19650 workflows to the project stakeholders and subcontractors (e.g., Design, Construction, and Project Management)  
-Supports the project Exchange Information Requirements for flow-down to the supply chain, coordinating with the TA on specification changes 
-Training of project delivery team on the CDE (ProjectWise) 
-Develop standard workflows for inter-operability between the CDE and GIS to support project delivery 
-Conducts regular assessments of the CDE to ensure it is meeting the project and standards requirements 
-Serves as a liaison between PCOs, IPT, and IT for resolution of CDE related issues 
-Performs and manages the work in accordance with relevant Project Procedures and information requirements (EIR/AIR/PIR) 
-Supports standard processes for the preparation of model based design quantity take-offs, enables construction quantity reporting processes and forecasting 
-Visits PCo sites and job sites to facilitate CDE discussions and execution 
-Provides operational support to PCo BIM and Document Control coordinators, including leads at 3rd Party engineering consultants, design firms and/or subcontractors. 
-Participates regularly with off-project functional team for training and development, knowledge sharing, management and lessons learned 
-Supports the development processes to integrate BIM/3D models with schedule to generate 4D simulation of construction sequence 
 
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualfications
-BS in Engineering, Construction Management with 7+ years of experience in project delivery or MS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management with 5+ years of project delivery experience.
-Minimum 5 years’ experience as BIM, CDE, or Project IT roles leveraging or managing technology in design and construction.
 
Additional Qualifications 
-Expert knowledge and proficiency with collaboration and data management solutions: ProjectWise, iTwin, Synchro, and other Bentley tools.
-Advanced knowledge/experience in coding/development of Powershell scripts.
-Experience developing and deploying PowerBi dashboards to support CDE management and administration.
-Proficiency in AutoCAD, InfraWorks, Civil3D, Revit and interoperability with GIS.
-Knowledge of Design-Bid-Build, Design/Build, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), LEAN and other modern contractual delivery methods. 
-Understands project workflows from design, estimation, construction administration and coordination.
-Collaborates well in a team environment.
-Ability to manage priorities and take on additional evolving responsibilities.
