Job description

Qualifications: Completion of Special Needs Worker Certificate or equivalent

Twp years’ working with CYSN and Behaviour and Mental Health Concerns

MANDT training

Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal Culture

Valid Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License Current Driver’s Abstract

Current First aid and CPR Current physician’s note of good health

Current TB Test Current Criminal Record Check clearance letter

Clearance through the MCFD HUB References

Skills: Experience working with children/youth with developmental and physical disabilities and Mental Health and Addictions Issues

Able to transport, schedule and participate in all activities (including on-line education assistance) with CYSN

Able to push and lift wheelchairs and provide personal care for children/youth with high needs

Ability to use positive behaviour support strategies

An understanding of building an inclusive community for children/youth supported

Able to bridge non-verbal communications - participate regularly in augmentative communication systems (CAYA)

Ability to consistently convey respect and dignity

Able to do assessments and programming and be computer literate

Experience and ability in written work which displays organizational skills and flexibility

Ability to work cooperatively with the child/youth served, family and other team members

Perform other related duties as required to maintain a clean, comfortable and nurturing program environment

Complies with current CARF standards (Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities)

Fully vaccinated for COVID19

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Salary: $30.69 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 37 per week
