About us:
At OIB Child and Youth Services (OIB) we believe that all children and youth should have the opportunity to live in a safe and nurturing environment. We provide all-inclusive care in a residential setting to children ranging in age from 6-12 years old. You will contribute to their lives by doing a bit of everything- from administering medications to cooking and cleaning, driving to and from appointments; in addition to providing emotional and behavioural support. Staff at OIB provide a high level of care and support in everything we do for the youth at our homes.
We are currently looking for Residential Support Workers for weekend shifts to contribute to our meaningful work!
What we are looking for:
- Reliable
- Passionate about helping others.
- Excellent communicator who is understanding, patient, and non-judgmental while providing a high level of care to our children and youth.
- Valid BC Driver's Class 5 License and a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Must be 19 years or older.
- Full vaccination against COVID-19.
Preferred but not required:
- Experience working with youth who have a mental health diagnosis or experienced trauma.
- Experience administering and documenting daily medications.
- Education in a related field (education, psychology, child and youth care, counselling, health).

Compensation, hours, and location:
Compensation starts between $22-$24 per hour for hourly support shifts and between $300-330 for a 24-hour live-in shift. Hours are varied and a number of shifts at our two locations in Victoria, B.C. are available.
