- Providing personal care and medication administration
- Assisting individuals to plan and cook meals
- Helping with banking and money management
- Accompanying individuals on recreational and community inclusion activities
- Assisting individuals with daily living skills to promote self-management

Western Human Resource Corp is hiring for Casual and part-time employees in Vernon, BC at our various group homes to help us provide daily living support to adults with developmental disabilities living in a community group home setting. Compensation: $25.05-28.75 per hour (Casuals receive an extra 10.2% in lieu of benefits).

(All part-time positions have the opportunity to pick up casual on-call shifts on top of their regular work hours.)
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
-One year certificate in a related human / social service field with an emphasis on community living services or equivalent training / experience.
-Experience with personal care and medication administration an asset.
-One year recent related experience in community living. Exhibits a healthy attitude towards normalization principles and is aware of their position as a positive role model.
-Demonstrated ability in written, oral and interpersonal communication skills in English
-Have knowledge of and experience in Behaviour Management. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with the client population.
-Able to meet applicable Ministry legislation and regulations (e.g. Community Care and Assisted Living Act and applicable regulations) and agency policies.
Employment Requirements
-Valid Class 4 Restricted BC driver’s license / or Class 5 with willingness to obtain Class 4 (Must have class 5 drivers license at minimum)
-A current drivers abstract showing fewer than 4 tickets that carry penalty points in previous 2 years and no motor vehicle related Criminal Code of Canada conviction in the previous 3 years
-Valid, current First Aid and CPR certificate
-Valid Food Safe Certificate
-Current and negative Mantoux (TB) test
-Clear criminal record check
-Good general health and physically able to perform the duties of the job (Doctor’s certification required 14 days prior to commencement of employment)
-NVCI or MANDT certificate an asset.
-Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
Our agency will support you in obtaining other required certifications.
