As the Claims Adjuster, Complex Loss, you can play a key role in fulfilling this commitment.
Your primary responsibilities include:
● Driving the investigation required as the internal adjuster of property claims, with a focus on complex losses such as dwelling fires, barn fires, oil spills and liability property damage claims
● Providing leadership, training, mentoring, payment and denial authorization to other Claims Adjusters in relation to property claims
● Interpreting, analyzing and applying policy wordings to claims presented
● Setting, reviewing and maintaining claim reserves
● Summarizing and providing clear, concise direction to the insured both verbally and in writing.
● Working with Loss Prevention and Underwriting to identify risks and trends
Requirements for the successful candidate:
● Minimum 4 years claims adjusting (including external adjusting) with a property and casualty company
● Broad/In-Depth knowledge and experience in adjusting of property claims
● CIP designation or working towards same and/or post-secondary degree/diploma in related business field
● Exceptional skills in documentation, organization and written & oral communication
● Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional demeanor with policyholders, brokers and service providers
● Agricultural background/knowledge is considered an asset
● Bilingualism is considered an asset
