Weaver Group currently has an opening for a: Class 1 Heavy Haul Operator
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate a winch tractor-trailer combo unit (including wheeler trailer and scissor neck trailers) to transport heavy equipment and oversized loads across Western Canada.
- Load / unload heavy equipment including: rock trucks, track hoes, dozers, graders, side booms, stringing/lowering-in/setting tractors, skid steers, and aerial lifts.
- Ensure proper load securement according to DOT standards utilizing chains, straps and tarps.
- Complete, maintain and submit in a timely manner: accurate logbooks, pre/post trip inspections, vehicle inspections, FLHA / hazard assessments, and time sheets.
- Abide by Provincial / Federal Hours of Service Regulations.
- Strategic time and journey management planning.
- Navigate directions using LSD coordinates and navigation systems.
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of unit.
- Communicate continuously with dispatch / management team.
Requirements:
- Clean Class 1 License with a minimum 3 years Heavy Haul experience.
- Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol clearance.
- Valid Safety Tickets including: CSO, Standard First Aid with Level C CPR an BC Jurisdiction, and H2S Alive.
- Must be willing to work away from home as required.
- Mechanical inclination an asset.
WGL has offices in both Peace River and Grande Prairie, our equipment is mobilized from both locations and we are currently accepting applications from both municipalities.
