Job Summary:
We are seeking a Classroom Assistant to join our organization. The Classroom Assistant will support the instructor in classroom settings and help the Students/instructor run lessons, activities and other parts of our day-to-day classes. Our Students include neurodiverse youth and adults (e.g., Autistic, down syndrome, social communication disorder) our goal is for them to achieve greater independence as well as improve their quality of life through life skills training.
Responsibilities:
- Assist instructors in classroom settings.
Qualifications:
- Background in community work, education, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with special needs, particularly adults, is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, Commitment to the mission and values of Reach Toronto, with a genuine passion for helping others.
Time Commitment:
- This position requiring a commitment of [3 -6 Hours a week/ Mondays (Morning-Mid day)], soon to be 6 Hours in the summer ( Monday & Wednesday with the possibility for more.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 6 per week
