Full Time | 4-on-4-off rotation, 10 hour shifts, with evenings and weekends as required

At Odyssey House, our vision is to help women and children break free from the cycle of family violence. As a member of our team, you will help to ensure consistent implementation of agency policies and procedures and ensure all staff, residents, and clients are cared for.

Summary of Position

The Client Support Manager will manage the daily tasks of the Client Support Workers and will provide any necessary support to ensure these duties are completed accurately and in a timely manner. The Client Support Manager will be directly responsible for the supervision, training, mentoring, and performance reviews of the Client Support Workers. The Client Support Manager will collaborate with the community and management to ensure best practice and implementation of services and programs.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prioritize duties for effective and efficient client care of Odyssey House Emergency Shelter
  • Ensure all reporting and documentation is accurate, up-to-date, non-judgmental, culturally inclusive, trauma-informed and women-centered
  • Monitor documentation and data entry to ensure accuracy of recording is in compliance with funders, Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters, and organizational needs
  • Assist in the development and implementation of services and programs which reduce risk from family violence and assist women to make healthier life choices
  • Maintain positive relationships and work with the relevant agencies and service providers for a collaborative approach to family violence
  • Ensure that families are supported by the Client Support Workers to provide supports, referrals, and advocacy to meet the needs of each family’s situation and that adequate discharge planning is in place
  • Support and promote staff professional development
  • Conduct performance appraisals for all assigned staff upon the appropriate anniversary data
  • Check timesheets of supervised staff for accuracy and prepare them for payroll

Qualifications

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counselling, or other Human Services related field (equivalent experience considered)
  • Minimum two years experience in a management role
  • Minimum two years work experience in Human Services Field
  • Minimum two years of related experience with high-risk populations

Skills and Abilities

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a safe and reliable vehicle
  • Experience in Outcome Tracker considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Creativity and energy
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of family violence
  • Experience with group facilitation planning and implementation
  • Strong communication skills, written and spoken
  • Mentoring and coaching skills
  • Strong knowledge of social service community agencies and protocols for referrals
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
