ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The job duties performed by the Commercial Transport/Heavy Duty Mechanic include but are not limited to:
- Performing regular repairs and maintenance on heavy, medium, and light-duty work trucks and trailers
- Inspect, troubleshoot, test, or repair of brake systems, suspension, engines, hydraulics, electrical, air conditioning, fuel systems, transmissions and driveline components
- Minimum of three years' prior work experience in the mechanical trade
- Experience with diesel engines
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to problem solving
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Licensed Commercial Transport or Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Valid Drivers Licence - minimum Class 5 (preference for Class 1 or 3 with Air Brakes)
- Must have own tools
- $35 - $43/hour dependent on experience and performance
