We are seeking a Communications Manager to enhance Foresight's communication strategy and produce various external communications such as press releases, articles, and blog posts. The ideal candidate possesses PR and media outreach experience, along with strong project management, editing skills, and a passion for grammar.
They will develop and execute a communication strategy to foster a deep connection with Foresight, Canadian cleantech, and the net zero transition. Responsibilities include positioning Foresight as a national cleantech thought-leader, profiling projects, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create engaging content.
The Communications Manager is also responsible for project management of all communications and marketing projects. Using our task manager platform, Wrike, the Communications Manager builds and tracks project roles and deliverables, ensuring the Marketing & Communications team is on task and on schedule with all deliverables.

This role reports to the Director of Marketing and works closely with the Marketing & Communications team including content writers, graphic designers, digital and social media marketers, and events managers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Creating and editing various forms of written content, including blog posts, thought-leadership articles, press releases, website content, key messages, media briefs, and interview prep notes in line with Foresight’s tone and language guide.
- Editing newsletters, blog posts, proposals, reports, and presentations.
- Develop and execute the annual communications plan to support media and public relations outreach and planning.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
- Managing the project-related workflow of the marketing and communication team, providing direction, support, and mentorship to ensure the successful execution of communication strategies and projects.
- Collaborating with various departments across the organization to manage and coordinate cross-departmental communication projects, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals and objectives.
- Leading project management for all marketing and communications projects.
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of marketing and communications experience, with increasing levels of responsibility or leadership.
- Proven track record in planning and executing PR and communications strategies to achieve objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or equivalent training and experience.
- Background in cleantech, sustainability, and/or innovation is highly desirable.
- Project management experience is preferred.
- Experience working with Wrike (or similar project management platform) and Hubspot
- Proficient in storytelling, capable of crafting captivating messaging and headlines.
- Excellent time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects and incorporating input from various stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information concisely and compellingly to diverse audiences.
- Self-directed and able to execute projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills, including excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Innovative, creative, and strategic thinker with excellent judgment.
Job Type: Full-time, Remote
Rate: $70,000-$85,000 Base + benefits (key is best fit and experience for the role)
