NIȽ TU,O Child and Family Services Society is currently looking for a full-time Manager for Family Support Worker Program. This is a fantastic opportunity for a high potential candidate wanting to move to their first managerial role, or for a seasoned manager looking to move to a Delegated Aboriginal Agency.

As the Manager of Family Support worker Program, you will be responsible for leading a team of Family Support Workers (FSWs). You will collaborate with the NIȽ TU,O Management to deliver a culturally safe services that meet the needs of our Coast Salish Communities. The position reports to the Executive Director and collaborate with the NIȽ TU,O Management team. A summary of duties include the following:
- Working with FSWs on a monthly basis to review caseload reports and track case progress.
- Managing staff in terms of scheduling, training, professional development, and provision of a first level of response to resolving staff grievances.
- Coordinating services with other social service programs/agencies, Provincial, Federal, and Municipal agencies in the region.
- Maintaining a client feedback process regarding services delivered.
- Maintain a waitlist for services, assign caseloads, and perform regular review of internal and external procedures regarding the program.
- Providing interpretation of CFCSA, Adoptions Act, Young Offenders Act, AOPSI, Chapter Three and other pertinent Provincial and Federal legislation on a regular basis.
- In consultations with the Executive Director, meet with Coast Salish Leadership and Administration and participate in Community events and ceremonies.
- Assisting the Executive Director with negotiation and development of protocols with Coast Salish people in the Region.
- Participating in short and long term planning and goal setting for the Agency.
- Maintaining a sound understanding of Funder contract requirements.
- Assisting the Executive Director in developing and maintaining activity reports for Funders and community.
Previous experience with as a social worker or providing front line services will be a requirement of the role. Experience working as or with social workers supporting indigenous children in care is considered a strong asset. The successful candidate will be required to get obtain employer paid C4 training if they do not have it already. Due to the nature of this role a clean criminal record and valid driver’s license are required as well.
Our ideal candidate will also possess the following:
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelors of Social Work, or Masters in Social Work, or Bachelors of Art in Child and Youth Care, or Masters in Educational Counseling/Masters in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
- Four or more years of experience in supervising a team of front line staff delivering one on one support services to youth/young adults/family with children
- Four or more years of experience working with Indigenous communities and/or organizations mandated to provide health, counselling, and child and family services.
- Candidates must either have or be willing to attend the training required to get C4 delegation
Knowledge and Skills
- In-depth knowledge of family centered, family strengthening and strength-based and trauma-informed practice frameworks;
- In-depth knowledge of the seven Coast Salish communities we provide services to, and the culture, language and teachings.
- In-depth knowledge of AOPSI and agency's policies, procedures, and practice manuals.
- In-depth knowledge of CFCS Act and other related legislation.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and effective communication skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to orient, train and provide leadership and consultative support to staff;
- Ability to handle crisis and crisis intervention;
- Ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing;
- Ability to effectively use computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, information management systems, and other relevant computer system.
- Lived experience as a member of an Indigenous community and/or Substantial cultural competencies with lived experience of engaging in and maintaining intercultural affiliations
- Practice rooted in social justice, Indigenous and anti-oppressive approaches to working with communities, families, and individuals
- In depth knowledge of the intergenerational trauma that occurs as a result of colonization, including the impacts of the Indian Act, Residential Schools Sixties Scoop, and other oppressive systems and structures.
- Valid Driver's license with a positive driver's abstract and will be expected to travel for work.
- You will require a clean Criminal Record Check.

Salary
- $80,652.20 – $91,990.70 Per Annum
