Winnserv is a community of excellence that inspires belonging and connection. We provide residential services and independent living services so that adults with intellectual disabilities can live full and meaningful lives of their choosing.

We are currently seeking Community Support Workers to facilitate and foster the learning and development of the people we serve through coaching, mentoring and empowering individuals who live independently.

Reporting to the Supported Independent Living Supervisor, this position is responsible for planning, implementing and executing programs and activities that promote and encourage learning and development in daily living, social and life skills. The successful incumbent will directly support, develop and advocate for the people within our program with integrity and compassion and ensure each person is provided with the tools and resources needed to succeed.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education in Social Sciences, Disability and Community Support or related education preferred.
• Skills in assessing, planning, developing, and coordinating of support services.
• Demonstrated ability and competence to establish supportive, trusting relationships.
• Strong capability to work calmly in stressful situations.
• Be willing to engage in difficult conversations with respect for all people involved.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to listen, understand the problem and respond to various situations.
• Ability to operate independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven detail orientation and strong administrative skills.
• Valid Manitoba class 5 driver’s license and vehicle preferred.
