As a member of the management team the Composites Production supervisor will work with cell leaders and their production team to ensure staff work safely to meet customer orders, focus on lean initiatives and ensure staff are making quality components.
A technical knowledge in composites and composites manufacturing is an asset.
1. Ensure employees follow safety rules and continue to educate them on the importance of safety. Ensure production floor is clean at start and end of shift with all departments.
2. Train / mentor new employees - spend time with new hires whom may need guidance and coaching on the parts they are learning on. Ensure they get proper introduction to the team and a coach to work alongside as they learn. Take the time to explain your team's role in the cell, with the cell leader present. Every job is important, explain the purpose of their job and why it is important to Eastside, to the customer and to the team they are a part of.
3. Review quality alerts and data with the team each shift to determine where we can improve and compare processes do the work instructions.
4. Ensure employees follow proper procedures for part production, review work instructions regularly on parts in production.
5. Develop and Follow Production Schedule – review the schedule at the start, during and end of shift with the lead hands and production team
6. Maintain Raw material, bracket inventory – review inventory on hand to ensure staff have all materials to meet their production requirements.
7. Assist with developing / implementing new procedures on new components when they are being implemented.
8. Monitor / track special projects, one offs and small run production
9. Focus on improving skill set of existing employees, cross train when possible and listen to their interests so we can support them as best as possible. Set goals, as individuals and as a team. You when individual efforts are aligned and the team goal is then reached. Goal setting is daily at a minimum.
10. Support and Increase communication on shop floor and share concerns with the management team on a regular basis
