Orbis Group Inc is looking for Construction Safety Officer for a full-time position.
While reporting to the Site Superintendent, this position will act as the CSO for the project and ensure that high-quality performance and compliance to project standards are maintained while following strict safety protocols and reporting standards.
You will have to do the following:
- Be able to review and identify various health and safety concerns on the worksite.
- Assist management in the maintenance of a health and safety management system.
- Effectively communicate with management, government and workers on and off the job.

- Must have previous experience and demonstrate a thorough understanding of residential /commercial construction;
- Current certificates – Construction Safety Officer (CSO), or NCSO and OFA 2 or 3;
- Good knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, policies, guidelines, and standards;
- Proactive in identifying hazards and implementing corrective measures to ensure that health, safety and environment standards are being met on site;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to influence others, in matters of health, safety and environment;
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer programs as may be necessary in the performance of CSO duties;
- Demonstrated ability to keep detailed and accurate health, safety and environment records;
- Can lift up to 50 lbs. and perform other physically demanding duties;
License/Certifications:
- Class 5 Drivers License (preferred)
Experience:
- Construction Safety Officer: 1 year (preferred)

Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
