Taylor Ryan is currently hiring a Construction Safety Officer to join our client's growing team. This individual will join a General Contractor long-term on high-rise residential projects.
Job responsibilities:
- Involved in engraining safety culture in the company.
- Conduct work area inspections to ensure equipment, materials, and processes do not present a safety, health or environmental hazard.
- Lead site-specific Health & Safety Orientations.
- Assist site management and employees with safety programs, participation and compliance.
- Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
- Assist in the incident investigation process when necessary; be involved in the preparation of reports and summaries.
- Maintain and track all recordable statistics, training requirements for project-specific needs.
- Attend applicable safety meetings including toolbox talks where required.
- Building backing, guard rails as needed
Qualifications:
- Current First Aid Certificate, Level 2 minimum.
- 2+ years of general construction experience.
- 2+ years of Health and Safety work experience in the construction industry.
- Proficiency with computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, email and other common applications.
- Additional training including Fall Protection, Rescue/Confined spaces, Bobcat/mobile equipment operation an asset.
Compensation:
- $30 - 38/ per hour
- 2-3 weeks holidays
