Our client in a well established General Contractor based out of Hamilton. They specialise in Institutional, Commercial and Industrial interior renovations and retro-fit outs projects.
Job Description
Senior Estimators Main Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Study plans and specifications clarifying location and document discrepancies
- Ability to provide input on profit margins and fees
- Participate in project development activities including scope definition and clarification, preconstruction planning, control estimate development and delivery
- Provide preconstruction services including preparing the preliminary budgets.
- Confirm if there is a site visit and arrange attendance.
- Solicit bidders, prepare a sub-trade request list for distribution, and note special trades to be personally called.
- Listing of special materials and calling for prices.
- Ability to attend site visits, take pictures, notes, and interacting with owner / consultant.
- Ability to build a preliminary tender schedule based on the major and long delivery dates and review with our construction department.
- Assist in negotiating and the awarding of certain contracts.
