About the role
We’re looking for a Digital Underwriting Strategy Consultant to join our growing team!
As a Digital Underwriting Strategy Consultant, your work will have an impact on driving user autonomy, delivering digital guidelines and tools to improve technology. People will count on you to conduct analysis of data, scenarios, guidelines and processes to recommend improvements and contribute to the development of our digital strategies. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 2 days in the office reporting to the Manager, Digital Underwriting and can be based in Vancouver BC.
What you'll do here:
Supports in analysis of data, guidelines, and processes and developing recommended actions plans
Work with the Regional Specialists, Managers and Director for the planning, design and delivery of current and new products
Alignment of our information management structure
Coordination of rules and guideline maintenance
Collaboration with stakeholders to facilitate implementation
Strong team player working with various stakeholders
Participate in committees, seminars and conferences
Supports Commercial Lines in analysis of results, identifying areas for learning opportunities and developing recommended action plans for Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants
Contribute to quarterly reporting to various internal Stakeholders
Follows up on action plans and recommendations to ensure they are addressed by the due dates
Contribution to our national harmonization efforts and a strong sense of #oneteam
What you bring to the table:
Minimum of 4 years of Commercial Underwriting experience at an Intermediate or Senior level (P&C or Specialty Solutions)
Strong knowledge of Commercial P&C and/or Specialty Solutions insurance wordings, product, appetite and philosophies, along with underwriting guidelines, systems and procedures
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to consider different perspectives and approaches
Ability to identify and recommend guideline or tool improvement opportunities and propose solutions and action plans
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to collaborate, promote partnerships and build effective work relationships
Self-driven and able to work effectively under pressure
Adapt to changes in the workplace positively
Good understanding of Intact underwriting systems and office software applications including intermediate Excel skills such as creating pivot tables, analyzing and filter data
Bachelor’s degree and completed CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) is an asset
Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
Commercial Auto Underwriting an asset

Salary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity:
