Stoni Consolidated is a holding company with a variety of existing commercial properties in its real estate portfolio.

We are looking for a Controller who while working independently, would be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for several smaller companies within the organization as well as responding to enquires from CRA. This position offers the successful candidate considerable flexibility regrading location and hours of work provided all month end work is completed on time, to GAAP standards and with a high degree of accuracy.

Core Competencies - Position Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and related reports.
• Maintain the GL accurately ensuring invoices, payables, and other expenses are both input and completed in accordance with the companies polices and procedures on a monthly cycle.
• Complete filings for G.S.T and responding to any enquires from CRA.
• Co-Ordinating year end tax filings with 3rd party accountants.
• Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards.
• Perform administrative functions as necessary.
• Prepare cheque runs in accordance with our companies’ policies including managing expectations amongst vendors to ensure that all vendors are successful in getting paid on time.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in an accounting position.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles all to GAAP standards.
• Ability to produce quality materials on time monthly.
• Experience with Quickbooks.
