CONTROLLER / DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

As we continue to expand our operations, we seek a highly skilled Controller / Director of Finance to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our manufacturing operations.
Position Overview:
The Controller / Director of Finance will oversee all financial activities related to the manufacturing division, ensure accurate and timely reporting, comply with regulatory requirements, and provide strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and profitability objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Provide meaningful insights and recommendations to the management team.
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and operational performance.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the manufacturing division.
- Develop and maintain accurate and realistic forecasts.
- Provide budget vs. actual analysis and variance explanations.
3. Cost Control and Optimization:
- Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and improve existing costing methods to enhance accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
4. Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory management, including valuation, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and excess stock.
5. ERP System Management:
- Administer and optimize the company's ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.) for manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure system reliability, data integrity, and efficiency.
- Train and support finance and operations teams in utilizing the ERP system effectively.
6. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Manage financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks related to the manufacturing division.
7. Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and mentor a team of Finance professionals within the manufacturing division.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
8. Capital Expenditure and Investment Analysis:
- Evaluate capital expenditure proposals for manufacturing projects.
- Conduct financial analysis to support investment decisions and ROI assessments.
9. Strategic Financial Planning:
- Work closely with senior management to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Provide financial input for business development initiatives and expansion plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- Ten years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least five years in a managerial or supervisory role within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting principles, cost accounting, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
