The TELUS Business Solutions (TBS) Finance Business Partners team supporting IoT and Industry Solutions is a key strategic finance role on our team. The Industry Solutions team is focused on scaling our 5G, IoT, third wave and data monetization capabilities to fully capture growth opportunities across our market segments and developing our future vertical and horizontal solutions and product capabilities that will leverage our world-class networks and digital systems to enable the success of business customers, their team members and their customers.
The Controller team provides financial insights, solutions and recommendations to enable senior leaders and key stakeholders to make the right business decisions as we strive for operational excellence and be the most recommended company globally.

As the Controller, you'll be the business partner to a diverse group of leaders including senior executives within TELUS Business Solutions organization. You'll provide controllership, financial guidance, and stewardship to ensure strategic and operational goals. Your expertise with financial reporting, forecasting and strategy planning will shape critical business decisions. Your talent for balancing focus on small but important details and the big picture will be invaluable as you address complex challenges with innovative solutions. Engaging and building strong relationships with internal partners, you'll directly contribute to further elevating the customer experience and our brand.
What you'll do
As the Subject Matter Expert, you'll
• Lead and coordinate IoT financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning process
• Review and approve monthly and periodic activities, including month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, budget transfers, triage/forecast loading, and balance sheet management
• Review executive operating results packages to be presented to senior leadership team members, including Vice President - Industry Solutions and Business Marketing.
• Identify issues, interpret and apply accounting policies, and influence non-finance teams on the financial implications of business decisions
• Provide financial, business and operational driver-based variance analysis and insights and management expectations
• Analyze, evaluate and report on complex financial proposals, business plans (including M&A/Inorganic targets) or new product introduction part of the go-to-market strategy to drive growth.
• Lead and co-ordinate a diverse range of ad-hoc financial and operational analysis requests from senior leaders
As a Business Partner, you'll:
• Collaborate with leaders to monitor and analyze key performance results and metrics, and provide solutions to mitigate adverse trends
• Provide value-add by proactively identifying opportunities to support business strategies and drive profitable revenue growth
• Recommend and implement process improvements, including obtaining support from stakeholders, and support process improvements from other teams from across the enterprise (i.e. technology)
• Assist in developing and executing on new processes, including billing and reporting of new product introduction
• Liaise with the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis teams to address consolidated reporting or forecasting requirements
What you bring
• 5+ years of progressive experience in finance related positions supporting a large business group and senior leaders
• Sought out for your deep understanding of GAAP and IFRS
• Regarded as an exceptional communicator, able to "tell the story" to and influence others at all levels
• Recognized for having a collaborative, customer-focused approach to resolving problems/issues
• Respected for your strong organizational skills and an ability to scope out difficult tasks and projects, set objectives and goals, develop schedules, prioritize multiple activities, and anticipate roadblocks
• Skillful in managing competing priorities and adapting to ambiguous situations
• Poised and confident when interacting with and delivering presentation to executives
• Noted as highly proficient with Microsoft (MS) Excel, MS PowerPoint and SAP
• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
• Professional accounting designation (e.g. Chartered Professional Accountant)
