Reporting Relationships: Finance Manager
Position Summary:
The Corporate Accountant/Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making within the company. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements and BU performance reports. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts. Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis and explanations.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of financial data, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on analysis results.
- Payroll and Insurance: Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll diligently and accurately following established procedures. Maintain insurance accounts accordingly based on requirements and compliance of consulting engineering industry and standards.
- Accounting Books Reconciliation: Assure books and accounts reconciliation on a periodic basis by capturing all revenues and costs under respective periods. Identify outstanding transactions, adjust for timing differences, reconcile balances, investigate discrepancies.
- Cost Control: Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction or optimization. Work closely with departments to develop strategies for improving cost efficiency while maintaining quality.
- Finance and Accounting Compliance: Utilize financial systems and software to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in system enhancements or implementations.
- Perform other related duties as required by the Finance Manager or by the Integrator/President.

Requirements:
The Corporate Accountant/Analyst would normally attain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities through completion of a relevant financial undergraduate degree and 5+ years of experience. Equivalencies will be considered. Experience working in a consulting firm is an asset.

Working Conditions:
Normal working hours in a hybrid office environment. May be required to deal with challenging tasks and requests. Will likely deal under tight deadlines. The Corporate Accountant/Analyst will have to manage multiple requests and tasks at one time and must be prepared to deal with stressful situations at any time.
