Welcome to The Therapy Place Counselling Group!

We have an opening for one full time counsellor. The successful candidate must have experience working with individuals and couples in a clinical counselling capacity.

Applicants must possess a minimum Masters degree in Arts, Counselling, Education (EdPsych), Nursing, or Social Work, and be eligible for registration with either the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), the College of Psychologists of BC (CPBC) or the British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW). This is a contract position with a generous fixed sales percentage. There is the possibility for contract extensions beyond the first standard one-year term (several of our counsellors have been with us several years now).

Contracted counsellors are provided with clients, advertising, business cards, and a comfortable, furnished office. Contractors must provide their own printer, and must possess a degree of proficiency with computers (especially word processing and email; they would also need to be able to learn our web-based Client Records Management System, "Jane". We are ideally looking for counsellors with a minimum of 3 years of experience post-graduation. Hours are flexible (you can largely set your own schedule between the hours of 9am and 9pm), but contractors would ideally be available to provide a portion of their available services outside of regular school hours several days per week (e.g. after 4pm on weekdays and Saturdays or Sundays). This is to assure service availability to school-age children and families that are unable to take time off work during the Monday-Friday workweek.

The Therapy Place Counselling Group can provide no guarantee of minimum hours/pay; however, contractors can likely expect a minimum of 25 client hours per week within a few weeks of starting.
