Credit Analyst
Employment Status: 6-month Contract/Full-time Permanent
Reporting to: Head and Manager, Credit Risk Management Department
Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario
Responsibilities
- Perform risk assessment and provide analytical opinion on proposals.
- Verify the execution of documents, and the fulfilment of conditions precedent.
- Check and verify drawdown instruction and issue e-permit for loan disbursement.
- Post lending management and oversight.
- Analyzing and evaluating the risks of proposals, reviewing the documents from legal and compliance prospective, checking the conformity of conditions precedent and the perfection of legal documentation prior to loan advance.
- Providing overall risk analysis opinion and recommendation based on the credit rating, credit facility limit, collateral value, facility structure, lending terms and other conditions and submit to CRMD Head/Manager or other authorized person for verification.
- Monitoring and reviewing the approved credit facilities which are aligned with our Bank’s credit policy periodically.
- Performing other duties that are assigned by CRMD Head/Manager. Previously done, setup commitment fee on GCMS, reviewed site inspection credit proposal template, reviewed stress test proposals, analyzed market condition on Pacific Mall, analyzed the financial performance of Canadian big five banks and HSBC.
- Review and comment the reasonableness on customer credit rating proposed by business originators, and whether rating scorecard has demonstrated the customer rating properly.
- Review and comment the reasonableness of the credit limit requested by business originators.
- Review the reasonableness of the collateral valuation and revaluation, make comments on collateral appraisal reports.
- Oversee post-lending management conducted by business originators.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in financial sector, specializing in corporate, commercial, and residential lending, real estate, mining and energy, transportation, wholesale or syndicated loan is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, law or relevant areas.
- CFA or CPA designation is preferred.
- Canadian Risk Management accreditation is an asset.
- Able to complete work professionally with minimum instruction.
- Great analytical skills.
- Able to perform well under pressure.
- Great verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
