Crew Leader

Duties:

• Be a safety leader in camp

• Be an effective and productive part of a team

• Be professional as you deal with management, the client, and other employees

• Manage a crew of 11 tree planters, ensuring they have land and trees to plant throughout the workday

• Train new planters and provide guidance to all crew members

• Ensure that planting is completed efficiently and according to quality standards

• Maintain and respect company equipment and camp infrastructure

• Crew Leaders are compensated for hiring 11 planters for their crews, they are given support through hiring team to find prospects

Skills:

• Must have previous experience tree planting in a bush camp setting

• Must be physically fit and able to withstand the rigours of outdoor field work

• Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage a team

• Willingness to take Occupational First Aid Level 3 prior to April 15

• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and team members

• Ability to use various computer programs and apps

• Needs good written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise

• Must be willing to live in a bush camp setting with established drug and alcohol and respectful workplace policies

• Must have good driving record and valid unrestricted licence

• Must be able to travel to Barriere, BC, to attend in-person field training in mid-late April
